★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Parroquia de María Auxiliadora, se encuentra en la bella localidad de Empalme Escobedo, pueblo ferrocarrilero que ama y venera a la Santísima Virgen, está situado en el Municipio de Comonfort (en el Estado de Guanajuato). Tiene 12423 habitantes, está a 1790 metros de altitud. Empalme Escobedo pertenece a la cuenca del Río Laja. El clima es semi seco con lluvias en verano y una precipitación pluvial de 776.8 mm. Las temperaturas medias son: máxima 38ºC y mínima de 1ºC. Los vientos dominantes son de noreste a suroeste. Escobedo tiene una superficie de 191 hectáreas. Empalme (González), hoy Empalme Escobedo fue el asentamiento del personal ferrocarrilero estacionado en dicho lugar, ya que antes de 1902 no existía nada.
Cuenta la gente más antigua del pueblo, que Empalme González, (hoy EMPALME ESCOBEDO, GUANAJUATO) no tenía templo, por lo cual todas las personas de esa época tenían que asistir a MISA a la comunidad más cercana, SORIA, GUANAJUATO que está aproximadamente a 2 km. de distancia.
Entonces surge la inquietud de que nuestro pueblo tuviera su propio templo. Se empezaron a hacer gestiones, sin embargo el Presbítero de Soria, Don Moisés Huerta, se oponía rotundamente, por lo cual hasta que él falleció fue que las personas más dinámicas del pueblo viendo la necesidad que se tenía iniciaron este proyecto.
La colocación de la primera piedra para la construcción del templo se realiza el 22 de mayo de 1947 en la parte oriente, por donde se encuentra actualmente la Virgen de Guadalupe, En este importante suceso estuvieron presentes el Arzobispo Altamirano de la Arquidiócesis de Morelia, Michoacán a la cual pertenecía este territorio.
El Sr. Cura Don José Reyna expresa a la Diócesis de Morelia la necesidad de que Empalme Escobedo contara con un sacerdote y designan al Pbro. José Villagómez muy humilde y caritativo, a quien le toca unir al pueblo en la fe, participa activamente en iniciar con la cimentación y levantamiento de bardas, siempre dispuestos a ayudar en este proyecto, El Sr. Cura Don José Reyna, autoridades eclesiásticas, municipales y por supuesto toda la población de esta generosa y bellísima comunidad que desde entonces demuestra que los sueños con la ayuda de Dios siempre se llevan a cabo.
Posteriormente fue designado el Pbro. JAVIER MURILLO, quien continuó con la obra material y el impulso a los grupos de la acción Católica de jóvenes del año 1955 a 1956.
De 1956 A 1957 el Pbro. ALBERTO GODDSSELTS, de ascendencia belga, a quien ordenó el papa PIO XII, sigue con las obras del templo y la catequesis infantil y juvenil.
En el año 1957 llega al templo el Pbro. NICOLÁS GARCÍA, (1957-1967). Sacerdote muy trabajador quien vuelve a unir en la fe al pueblo, trabajando incansablemente, invitando a todos a participar, en su período se construyó PARTE DE LOS MUROS, LA BÓVEDA, LA TORRE, LA CÚPULA Y SE HICIERON LOS ENJARRES.
El Pbro. AUGUSTO OLIVARES, 1968-1989, colocó, el piso del presbiterio en ónix. Concluyó una parte que faltaba del piso de mármol del templo, se instalaron los candiles grandes, así como parte del equipo de sonido, En esa época, el Sr. Ignacio Álvarez donó las bancas. Estando el padre Augusto como vicario fijo, 25 de Enero de 1968 se erigió como parroquia, que dando como Patrona la Santísima Virgen María Auxiliadora. Se promulgando el decreto 5 de febrero del mismo año, quedando entonces como primer párroco.

The Parish of Mary Help of Christians, is located in the beautiful town of Empalme Escobedo, a railway town that loves and venerates the Blessed Virgin, is located in the Municipality of Comonfort (in the State of Guanajuato). It has 12423 inhabitants, is at 1790 meters of altitude. Empalme Escobedo belongs to the Laja River basin. The climate is semi dry with rains in summer and a rainfall of 776.8 mm. The average temperatures are: maximum 38ºC and minimum of 1ºC. The prevailing winds are from northeast to southwest. Escobedo has an area of 191 hectares. Empalme (González), today Empalme Escobedo was the settlement of the railroad personnel stationed in that place, since before 1902 nothing existed.
The oldest people in the town tell us that Empalme González (now EMPALME ESCOBEDO, GUANAJUATO) had no temple, so all the people of that time had to attend MISA at the nearest community, SORIA, GUANAJUATO, which is approximately a 2 km away
Then the concern arises that our people had their own temple. They began to make efforts, however the Presbyter of Soria, Don Moisés Huerta, was strongly opposed, so until he died it was that the most dynamic people in the town seeing the need that this project had started.
The laying of the first stone for the construction of the temple is carried out on May 22, 1947 in the eastern part, where the Virgin of Guadalupe is currently located. Mr. Cura Don José Reyna expresses to the Diocese of Morelia the need for Empalme Escobedo to have a priest and appoint the Pbro. Subsequently, the Pbro was appointed. JAVIER MURILLO, who continued with the material work and the impulse to the groups of the Catholic action of young people from 1955 to 1956.
From 1956 to 1957 the Pbro. ALBERTO GODDSSELTS, of Belgian descent, who was ordered by Pope Pius XII, continues with the works of the temple and children's and youth catechesis.
In 1957, El Pbro arrived at the temple. NICOLÁS GARCÍA, (1957-1967). Very hard-working priest who once again unites the people in faith, working tirelessly, inviting everyone to participate, during his period, PART OF THE WALLS, THE DOME, THE TOWER, THE DOME, AND THE MUSHROOMS WERE MADE.
The Pbro. AUGUSTO OLIVARES, 1968-1989, laid the floor of the presbytery onyx. A missing part of the marble floor of the temple concluded, the large lamps were installed, as well as part of the sound equipment. At that time, Mr. Ignacio Álvarez donated the benches. While Father Augusto was a fixed vicar, January 25, 1968, he was erected as a parish, giving as Patron Saint the Blessed Virgin Mary Help of Christians. Decree 5 of the same year was promulgated, remaining then as the first pastor.
