★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful church, and since it's facing the main plaza, you can have some of Dolores Hidalgo's famous ice cream at the outdoor stands there after your visit. This church figured in the Mexican independence movement; there are several interesting, inexpensive museums a few paces away.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dolores hidalgo Is known as "la cuna de la independencia" or the cradle of Independence. This church is probably one of the more popular ones due to its importance in Mexican history.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This beautiful church stands tall among the local buildings. Please keep an eye out for the intricate details found on the front facade, which are made of cantera. Construction first began in 1712, and three centuries later it still remains as a prime example of baroque churrigueresque style. Upon entering the facilities, gaze up to the ceiling and you will discover a taste of centuries past.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Magnificent architecture! You can see bullet holes from a long time ago engraved in the front of the building. The inside is incredible and the design of this place is breath taking. So much history to be learned from this place. This is where Mexico fought for its independence long ago. The Cry of Dolores or “Grito de Dolores”, was when a priest rang the bells and triggered the start of the Mexican war on September 16, 1810.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Magnificent Parroquia de Nuestra Senora marking the birthplace of the Mexican Revolution against Spain in September of 1810. Father Hidalgo made his famous call to war to the local population on this plaza. After over a decade of bloodshed the costly conflict gave way to Freedom for Mexico in 1821.
