★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La construcción de la Parroquia comenzó en 1688 con la aprobación de la separación de las parroquias por la Real Audiencia de Guadalajara, tanto la de Sombrerete como la de Chalchihuites. la construcción concluyó en el año de 1777. La construcción de dicha parroquia fue llevada a cabo gracias a las obras pías que los vecinos de la Villa de Llerena daban a la orden secular anualmente.
