Nestor Reyes (Especialista E-commerce) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El año 1538 se establecen los frailes menores en la ciudad e inician la evangelización de estas tierras En 1543 la orden de frailes menores envió a Autlán varios religiosos con el propósito de edificar el templo que fue de humilde construcción pues tenia techumbre de dos aguas y muros de adobe, Juntamente con el templo se fundó el convento en el año de 1545 cuyo guardián y primer evangelizador fue Fray Pedro de la Concepción. A medidas del siglo XVIII se amplio la edificación salvándose los muros originales, pero dándole mayor amplitud y aunque se le agregaron pesados capitales se conservó lo original del siglo XVI. La puerta principal de estilo morisco abierta en herradura, conserva arriba de su clave la fecha quizá de dicha restauración: 1745. Los religiosos habitaron en Autlán hasta el año 1799. Originalmente la iglesia estuvo dedicada al Misterio de la Transfiguración de Señor. El Padre Fray Antonio Tello, guardián a mediados del siglo XVII, señala que la Milagrosa Virgen del Rosario fue traída a esta parroquia hacia el año 1614 y en el año de 1831 hasta nuestros días la fiesta en honor a la Virgen del Rosario toma especial importancia. A principios del siglo XX la Parroquia lucía un atrio arbolado, que como era común en los templos coloniales debió haber sido el primer cementerio. Dicho atrio cercado por un bello muro y coronado con un señorial enrejado se mantuvo engalanando el templo parroquial hasta que en 1961 el general Albañez ordenó quitar la verga de la Parroquia de El Divino Salvador para hacer herraduras para la tropa y los canceles y puertas que se instalaron después en el Mercado Juárez. En 1961, bajo la guía pastoral del Papa Juan XXIII fue erigida la Diócesis de Autlán y la Parroquia de El Divino Salvador - El Sagrario fue constituida como su primer Catedral. En el gobierno municipal 2001-2003 se construyeron los arcos que ahora adornan el atrio.
