La primer iglesia que se edifico fue en honor a la virgen de San Juan de los lagos que gracias a la C. Josefina Carranza y a su esposo el C. Jesús Alcantara. Pero que por la creencia de la época no hera factible que a él poblado se le refiriera patrona a una mujer. Por tal motivo fue que se adoptó ea el patrón a San Miguel Arcángel.
