En la Época de la Independencia las tropas insurgentes, guiadas por Don José María Morelos y Pavón, Don Mariano Antonio Tapia, Don Nicolás Bravo y Don Vicente Guerrero, Hermenegildo Galeana y Valerio Trujano, tomaron Chiautla, defendida por Don Mateo Musitu, quien fue fusilado en sus allanadas trincheras
De esta victoria se obtuvieron 200 fusiles, parque, caballos, y cuatro cañones, entre los que iba el “Matamorelos”.
Realmente una Pena el que hayan tapado las huellas de las balas que había al exterior de ésta Parroquia ya que eran una Prueba fehaciente de la Historia de la Población y éste lugar Histórico.

From this victory 200 rifles, park, horses, and four guns were obtained, among which was the "Matamorelos".
Really a Penalty that they have covered the traces of the bullets that were outside this Parish since they were a Reliable Proof of the History of the Population and this Historical place.
