★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Es un de los lugares más antigüos de la ciudad, una hermosa iglesia que cuenta mucha historia, tiene hermosas representaciones y figuras religiosas cuales enseñan un poco de historia y más creencias de la Población en la ciudad,aún que el acceso es completamente difícil ya que se encuentra en la parte trasera de una increíble línea de puestos ambulantes los cuales le quitan vista, afuera de la iglesia es un lugar completamente inseguro incluso existen casos de prostitución, y es una pena. No puedes dejar un vehículo muy alto estacionado cerca, y es difícil acceder.
 It is one of the oldest places in the city, a beautiful church that tells a lot of history, has beautiful representations and religious figures that teach a bit of history and more beliefs of the Population in the city, even though access is completely difficult since It is located at the back of an incredible line of traveling stalls which take away your view, outside the church it is a completely insecure place, there are even cases of prostitution, and it is a shame. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Increíble iglesia en lo más escondido del mercado de dulces de la Merced. A pesar de que está oculta es magnífica y está muy bien cuidada. Recomendado visitarla y admirar su hermosa arquitectura de estilo barroco. Lamentablemente no cuenta con bancas fuera de la iglesia y no puedes sentarte a admirar su belleza exterior.
Incredible church in the most hidden of the Merced sweets market. Although it is hidden, it is magnificent and well maintained. Recommended to visit it and admire its beautiful baroque-style architecture. Unfortunately it does not have benches outside the church and you cannot sit and admire its external beauty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Los registros más antiguos formales sobre esta parroquia son de 1772, aunque la zona ha tenido ocupación humana desde la fundación de La Gran Tenochtitlan. Para fines del siglo XIX, Manuel Rivera Cambas pintaba así el entorno social del territorio parroquial de Santo Tomás, La Palma:
"....Entre un laberinto de callejoncitos y vericuetos, habitados por las clases más pobres de nuestra sociedad, se levanta la humilde iglesita de Santo Tomás laPalma, que da nombre al famoso barrio donde hasta hace pocos años se abrigaban los malhechores y pendencieros de más nombradía en esta capital......."
(Manuel García Cubas,"México Pintoresco, Artístico y Monumental" pag. 158).
The oldest formal records on this parish date back to 1772, although the area has had human occupation since the founding of La Gran Tenochtitlan. At the end of the 19th century, Manuel Rivera Cambas painted the social environment of the parish territory of Santo Tomás, La Palma:
".... Among a labyrinth of alleys and twists and turns, inhabited by the poorest classes of our society, stands the humble little church of Santo Tomás la Palma, which gives its name to the famous neighborhood where until a few years ago criminals and quarrels took shelter of more renown in this capital ....... "

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una muy bonita iglesia cuenta ya con un amplio atrio y unas hermosas palmeras su interior es pequeño pero bastante cómodo lo único malo es su ubicación ya que aunque esta sobre una avenida grande quedó escondida por los puestos que tiene a su alrededor pues esta en la zona del mercado de dulces de la Merced y por esto hay veces que no tiene mucha gente en sus celebraciones, aún así es bastante recomendable para encontrar un poco de tranquilidad y paz en esa zona

En tiempos de cuaresma se llena de vendedores de palma, para venta de domingo de ramos. Los precios de la palma son muy accesibles, 15 o 20 pesos.
