Very good price and good service, just a small detail when delivering the car since the person in charge did not arrive on time for the appointment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We selected Payless car rental because the office was conveniently located inside the Holiday Inn near the airport. The Holiday Inn was an excellent experience -- beautiful, super clean, etc. The price to rent from Payless was not cheaper than Hertz or other premium car rental agencies.
After waiting for 45 minutes for the agent to arrive, the rental process went smoothly. (The agent kept saying he'd be there "in a few minutes." It would have been preferred to be told the truth, since we had an appointment after.) The car was new and clean. We returned the car at night and took an early flight. The agent called the next day claiming he gave us a registration that is supposed to be in the car called Tarjeta de Circulation. When we said he did not give us these papers and that he should check the security camera, he then claimed the papers were in the glovebox, and we must have taken them out. We never opened the glovebox. Even if we had, why would we take the registration papers for a car we'll never see again? In addition, we were unhappy to hear that, had we been pulled over, we were missing a registration that would have been needed to show the officer.
We were charged almost $500 for papers that 1) we never received and 2) costs $50 to replace in Mexico. We were given no receipt itemizing the charges. We reported this fraud to our Visa to perform an investigation.
We do not recommend renting from this agency. We have rented from other agencies in Mexico before with no incident.
