AVOID THIS SCAMMING STATION!!!! They try to scam here regularly! I asked for full tank in my aveo rental and the guy starts filling and then cleans the windows. I wasn't distracted so a colleague came to his aid and asks me stuff in Spanish and shows me the tires around the car. I thought I might had low pressure in some but they all looked fine so he was just distracting me while his colleague changed the meter to 850 pesos and number of litres is blank suddenly. I said that it's impossible because the car have a small tank. I always tank up around 2/8 bars and that is 20-25 litres and maximum 500 pesos. The 2 guys didn't care what I was saying just saying 850 pesos. I asked for manager who wasn't working today according to them. A 3rd guy shows up though and says we can look at the pump meter. We go to the room with all the real pump meters and check my pump and sure it says 470 pesos and not 850! So if you ever see blank gas counter and seemingly high price ask to see the real pump meters. The most common trick on gasstations in general or misunderstanding is that when you give them a 500 bill they quickly show you a 50 bill. This may confuse you and think you gave them 50 and give them another 4 or 500. But since I know what I gave I always ask what they mean and then they want some coins to even out the change. So the 50 bill he is showing is the change he gives me if I can round up the payment. Since I always tank up for 450-470 I always let them keep the change though.

SCAM! Avoid the place. I just wanted to fill up the tank for rental. I knew the tank was almost full so I didn't expect much, I was watching number of gallons on the display but I got distracted because they wanted to wash the car windows and had to tell them 5 times to stop. Then after 15-20s of fueling they stopped and the display just showed 350 pesos (17 dollars) but not amount of gallons. I demanded receipt as that felt much more than I anticipated, but they said no. I went to the store 7eleven, which seems to be a different place, so I came back and they gave me a receipt for 175 pesos! Half of what they initially asked. I gave them 200 and left 25 tip for them fueling, but I shouldn't left anything extra since they tried to scam.

They scammed me by showing a price on the pump, but not the liters. They claimed, the pump would not show it. My car tank has a maximum capacity of 35 liters, but the price shown was the equivalent of 42 liters. Assuming that my tank was not empty, they tried to cheat me for approx 12 liters = 240 Pesos. They also tried other tricks, which I countered immediately. I returned to the gas station and threatened them with police. After some hot discussion, they returned me 160 Pesos, which leaves an overpayment of approx. 80 Pesos. They also tried to fiddle with my credit cards. They are just plain criminals. If you are at a gas station, here the rules: 1. Don't let yourself detract from the counter. Typically a 2. guy wants to check your air, clean windows, etc. 2. When paying cash, tell them explicitly, which bills you hand them over as they try to change bills and tell you to give them more. 3. Tell them before, you pay by credit card and you don't have cash. My experience, every 2. gas station in this country tries to cheat tourists.

Never, never, never use this gas station. All filling station attendants is cheaters. I don' t know how, but they change indications of the amount of money by increasing them. And they make quick bill change scam, using smaller bills and stealing bigger ones. This gas station is close to tourist area, and they rub tourists

Do not use this gas station. If there is no option, you should watch carefully how much they fuel. They will show only the price not liters. Also, you should check how much you pay in cash exactly, because they may change bills and request more money. But I strongly recommend DO NOT USE this gas station.

TOURIST RIP OFF - AVOID or be very careful - these guys block your view to the display and try to distract you whatever way they can and then ask you to pay totally different amount than you should be paying. All in a hurry creating stress so they can get your money.

I was scammed here, the classic 500/50 scam. I paid with a 500 peso bill, and the attendant insisted I handed him a 50 peso bill…. This is a class scam Mexican gas station attendants pull on foreigners. If you read the reviews on ANY gas station between bacalar and Cancun, you will see similar reviews. You must always be clear with the gas attendants and make sure they acknowledge the Value of cash you are handing them.
