I know about this trick they play, and even though I kept my eyes on the 500$-bill I gave the guy at the pump, he still swapped it with a 50$ and claimed I only gave him 50... What an idiot, he gave up after I yelled loud at him and gave me my correct change.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were returning a rental car and asked for 25L in the tank which would leave at least a quarter tank after our 80km drive. Our tank was at a 1/4 when we pulled in. 500 pesos later and we still didn't have a half a tank. Buying gas in Mexico turned out to be the biggest frustration and scam we encountered. I refuse to let them touch our vehicle going forward. Company is ripe with corruption.
