★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Peña de Bernal is a magical place, going up is the most amazing experience. Climb it in the morning otherwise the heat will be extreme. Wear sunglasses and sunscreen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing!!! When u r in Queretaro u cannot miss it. This is one of the ten most important monoliths on the earth. The small town at the base of the monolith is really nice with lots of small restaurants selling traditional food amd drinks, and of course mexican curious, and the street food.??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Challenging in places but great morning hike. The views from the top are breathtaking. If you feel brave you can climb the last part but you need climbing equipment or hire a local guide. Hardest part was finding the entrance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You can almost reach the top without equipment. Excellent views of the area. Although people of all ages can do this hike, it can be difficult. Sometimes, the road is wide with plenty of space to rest, other times there is only room for one person to pass. The road sometimes has steps, sometimes smooth white stones, and other areas with a natural inclination and curves.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was a fun hike to do. Parts of it are more of a scramble than a hike. I would recommend runners with a decent grip as there are some slick rocks that get covered with dust and things can get slippy. We hiked as far as you can without climbing gear. Beautiful view of the valley below.
We found a rare free parking lot. You have to pay 30 pesos for a wrist band to do the hike. There's a restaurant at the bottom with a bathroom for 10 pesos.
For an idea of the difficulty, it took me about 55 mins to get to the top. There are some steep parts and this hike is at elevation so I had to stop to catch my breath. I'm in decent shape but not any kind of super star. My husband probably could have done it in 40 if he wasn't waiting for me ?.
