Good magical town to explore but it was closed during the pandemic. Hope that I can visit this place in the future.

Town is pretty nice, there are some bars coffee shops. Pyramids are a bit different from the usuals (teotihuacan, templo mayor, etc) in addition there's a small hike you need to take to get there, which is not really hard but worth it

Nice archeological site. It is a bit small but it is worth paying a visit. I suggest visión early in the morning when the place it is not very crowded and it is faster to get there. This place is obviously crowded at weekends. If you are Mexican you do not have to pay anything, Mexicans only need to show their INE voter card

Inside the main structure, the builders carved a large circular enclosure, with a bench running around the wall which features an incredible carved jaguar pelt – which was carved as the builders hollowed out the hill-side. Three eagles, also carved into the rock, are found inside the temple and these are what give the temple, and the complex, its name.

Interesting trip with local friend, she had spoken about a smaller prehispanic site not far from where she lives. This particular site was where the men went to become warriors, interesting enough women went to become the female counterpart. It is a bit of a walk up to the, with work on the creating a series of steps it is doable even with my bad back. Wheelchairs would take at least 4 strong men, sorry not recommended for wheelchair ridden people

Beautiful view of the town from the top. Entrance is 60 pesos and free for Mexican nationals on Sundays.

Malinalco was conquered by the Aztecs just 500 years ago (1470) and they established here a sanctuary for their military elite: the Eagle and Jaguar warriors. The site was build carved out the side of the mountain. Not as impressive as the pyramid of Tepoztlán hence giving it 3/5 stars.
