About Pixza

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best pizza in town with a social impact. Few places are truly making a difference in the community while providing top notch blue corn based pizzas. If you care about social development (and taste) this is a must visit place within the Roma zone in Mexico City.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent maiz-based pizza (so, ? gluten-free) along with a meaningful initiative to give second-chance opportunities to people through work-training and developing trust. This is the kind of place where I really feel happy eating.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really cool place! The ideas they are implementing are what Mexico needs, support to vulnerable communities that no one looks out for. The pizzas are delicious and super cheap. Try also the blue corn snack, it is a treat!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had some of the most unique pizza flavors in my life, including squash flower, crickets, chile relleno, and more. The fact that their dough is made out of corn and not wheat gives it a nice kick. Their crunchiness rocks. And their drinks menu is yummy as well. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unique, great tasting pizza made with maíz azul (blue corn) promoting social empowerment through its employment of young people who fit the profile of “abandono social” (trans. social abandonment - lacking typical social support structure for life development).
10 out of 10 - Great social do-good concept, delicious pizza, and friendly staff.
Recommended: If you’re looking for something unique, I’d do a half and half pizza with salsa negra (bean base with serrano chile sauce) of these two flavors:
DESQUITADA
Corn esquites style with epazote (aromatic leaf) mayonnaise and a touch of piquín chili.
CHARIOT
Oaxacan grasshoppers soaked in salt and lemon.
If you’d prefer a less buggy option, then I’d choose my favorite flavor:
ROMÁNTICA
Slow-roasted pork with red onion and a touch of habanero chili.
The Good:
+ Helps support a business trying to improve its community.
+ Blue corn maíz is soft and crunchy in all the right places.
+ Stark flavor profiles, ensuring everyone gets what they want.
+ Lovely outdoor seating space.
+ Friendly and professional staff.
+ Delicious beer options.
+ Personal size pizza portions are plentiful. If you’re on the hungrier side, two might be the sweet spot.
The Okay:
+ Felt a little rushed towards the end with one of the staff waiting on us to finish our meal. I understand that the objective is to be more attentive if you need something but I just prefer a more hands-off approach.
The Bad:
Nada
