Es un lugar histórico por que en esta casona se hospedó el 11 de febrero de 1864 el entonces presidente de México el Benemérito de las Américas Benito Pablo Juárez García, en su intento de establecer la nueva capital del país en Monterrey ya que se estaba estableciendo la monarquía con Maximiliano de Austria traído por los franceses por lo que Juárez se traslado a esta ciudad trayendo consigo el Archivo General de la Nación en carruajes, el 14 de Febrero se entrevistó con el entonces gobernador Vidaurri pero no se llegó a ningún acuerdo. Juárez instaló su gobierno en Monterrey hasta el 3 de abril, ya que Vidaurri abandonó el país después de un plebiscito que no le favoreció, el 15 de Agosto del mismo año 1864 Juárez tuvo que salir de la ciudad por el avance de las tropas francesas y de los conservadores.

It is a historical place because the then President of Mexico, the Benemérito de las Américas Benito Pablo Juárez García, stayed in this house on February 11, 1864, in his attempt to establish the new capital of the country in Monterrey since the Monarchy with Maximilian of Austria brought by the French so Juarez moved to this city bringing with him the General Archive of the Nation in carriages, on February 14 he met with the then governor Vidaurri but no agreement was reached. Juárez installed his government in Monterrey until April 3, since Vidaurri left the country after a plebiscite that did not favor him, on August 15 of the same year 1864 Juárez had to leave the city due to the advance of the French troops and of the conservatives.
