β β β β β Loved our beach front cabana. It small private and in a great location right in between the great bars and restaurants but feels secluded and private and peaceful.

β β β β β It is a great place to stay at with your family. The people who work here are absolutely lovely, really polite and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and you have a great view on the sea. I recommend this place 100%

β β β β β I don't want to stay at any other place in Tulum. The location is perfect for walking to the best restaurants or just strolling the beach. The fact that they have a communal kitchen there made it really easy to save money by not eating every meal out. It's a small compound so you feel like it's your own private beach. Mauricio and the staff made us feel like part of the family and lead an amazing (and inexpensive) tour through the nature preserve. I can't wait to go back.

β β β β β I'm always torn when attempting to leave a glowing review for a place that I don't want anybody else to know about...
We've been vacationing in Tulum for the past ten years and usually try a different place to stay each time. Our stay at Playa Selva was so enjoyable that we already know that we'll be back to them next year!
The rooms are well appointed and extremely clean. I initially was a little apprehensive about using the communal kitchen but that was short-lived when I saw how well stocked it was with everything you could possible need to create a meal. Also, each kitchen-less room is provided with a LARGE cooler with ice that is kept in the kitchen area.

β β β β β Playa Selva was the perfect place for our Tulum vacation! The property is incredibly beautiful and even though it's right on the beach they've left the jungle in tack so you get the best of both. We stayed in Casa Playa which is a two-story house with it's own kitchen. It has an awesome porch with a nice view of the ocean and having our own kitchen was great, though the shared kitchen looked great too. This is a great area of the beach because there aren't any big hotels close by so the beach is quieter than other areas. They also have beach toys and bikes available to use which was awesome! The staff was so kind and hard working. I didn't know in advance but they clean your room everyday, which was so nice because they cleaned up the sand from the floor and provided fresh towels. Playa Selva is also in a perfect location because it's easily walkable to all of the best restaurants in the hotel zone but it's not surrounded by the clubs and crowds. Even the Wifi was fast and pretty reliable! The only negatives were things that would apply to any hotel in this price range in Tulum: distant club music at night (not too loud), no A/C (which I was worried about but didn't bother us at all), seaweed (seasonal issue but if you don't know what I'm talking about look it up), and a few bugs. We hardly had any mosquitos though! I spent hours trying to find the best place to stay in Tulum on a budget and this is it! If we return we will absolutely stay at Playa Selva again!

β β β β β We stayed at playa selva for almost 2 Weeks And we really enjoyed it. the houses are really clean and there is a kitchen for everyone to use. The beach infront of the houses is perfect and there is no beachclub next door which is now pretty rare in tulum(sadly)
We would always stay again at playa selva

β β β β β Great!!.. if you manage to get there. There didn't seem to be any official access to the beach, and every hotel/bar we asked claimed that we have to pay to get through.
In the end, we just walked through some bar like we own it and managed to get there without paying this way. From the beach, it was easy to get into the beach clubs with no cover then.

β β β β β I'm hesitant to share how FABULOUS and perfect this place is because it feels like the best-kept-secret in Tulum. It's so peaceful to be surrounded by lush palms and away from the club vibes but close enough to walk to everything you'd ever want. Great restaurants within a few minutes beach walk. Gorgeous clean rooms. The kitchen was so useful (plus great espresso). The owner, Mauricio, was very kind and makes you feel right at home. A quaint property of cottage-style bungalows laid out with many paths so you have privacy. Loved it.
I'm definitely coming back!
