Playacar Palace® All Inclusive Resort - 77710 Playa del Carmen

We visited on March 14 for 7 nights and we miss it. After booking our stay, I was a little apprehensive after reading reviews from non-members about their experience being treated differently compared to members, but that couldn't be further from the truth based on our experience there. The service was unlike anything we recieved at other resorts. Total attentiveness whether at the beach, pool, buffet or restaurants. Location was fantastic as it's right next to the ferry to Cozumel and next to 5th Avenue. The only downside was all the seaweed that week, nothing against the resort. Would definitely consider coming back.

This hotel has gone downhill in its level of service to regular hotel guests. This is our second year staying at this hotel and we came back because we had a good experience the first time. They have made it very hard for non members to visit. Even as we were sitting at pool chairs in the afternoon, the pool concierge would put up signs for members at seats we were sitting at. We had to wake up at sunrise to get two chairs for four people because all chairs were reserved for members. We found two chairs without a sign and the pool concierge made us move telling us that they made a mistake and there should have been a sign. The party who was telling us to move (and Andrea, the pool concierge) had reserved thirteen pool chairs for eleven people. They didn’t even need the two chairs we were sitting at. My seven year old daughter and nine year old son were crying. They said they didn’t even want to be at this hotel and would rather sit in the room all day watching cartoons because the people at the hotel and the staff were so mean to us. This is our last day of our vacation and it’s such a disappointment to get treated this way. No one in our family even wants to be here anymore. I will leave similar reviews on every travel review site about our experience. I’m in tears that our family vacation ended this way and I will make sure no other family feels this way.

We were staying at a different “5 star” resort on playa and needed a change. Playacar Palace was BEYOND what I was hoping for. Served and welcomed at every opportunity; this is truly a high standard 5 star resort. We only stayed one night and that is my greatest regret. We will be back. Thank you for the most pleasant and opulent stay. For those who are concerned: there is a wide variety of inspired and delicious vegan / vegetarian options!

Amazing place, staff, food an experience. It's a bit farther to go than Cancun or Playa del Carmen, but there are things at Cozumel you won't do anywhere else. For that reason it's worth it one time. The people are super friendly and the resort is beautiful.

Though the rooms are clean and service is good, the resort credit is a big lie. Isabel at the service desk is very rude and does not help. The airport transfer is another marketing trap. They don’t care for customers. The pool chairs are always reserved and do not get a spot. The kids play area is very inconsiderate. The employees can lie to any extent to get you into anything. It is not a 5 star hotel. It is a 3 star that is overpriced.

We've been to many hotels in Mexico. Our recent visit to Playacar Palace was really fantastic. The food, the service, the staff, the room, the location, all great! Upfront it seemed to be expensive, but after our stay, if you add up all the food and all the drinks we had, it was no more than any other place we have stayed. So stress free to have whatever you want, all included in the cost of the room. Add to that, a 5-start resort! I would highly recommend!

Us and our guests all stayed at Playacar Palace for our wedding in March 2022. We did not have our wedding onsite but had both our Welcome Cocktail Hour and Rehearsal Dinner at Playacar Palace. The hotel is great! It was a perfect size for our group as it isn’t enormous but still big enough to have plenty of activity all the time. The events were beautifully put together and the on site venues are great! The staff were all super friendly and even remember your name, where you like to sit, your drink order, etc. which makes you feel welcomed. The food is good and the hibachi restaurant was a fan favorite for all of our guests. Overall, we would recommend this resort to anyone and will definitely stay here anytime we are in the Riviera Maya area.

This was hands down, the best place we have ever stayed. The place is awesome. Our rooms were beautiful- loved the jacuzzi in ours- and they were always cleaned spotless. The grounds and pool were immaculate and the staff was overly helpful and so kind to us. We traveled with our 16 year old twin sons and the staff went out of their way to make sure none of us wanted for anything- ever. We’ve been to Mexico a lot and at many hotels, the food looks good but it doesn’t taste good. At this place, it didn’t just look beautiful- it tasted fantastic as well. Every single interaction with staff here was positive. The pool guys - waiters- that take your food orders on the beach check on you constantly to bring you drinks and food and they have security on the beach as well so you feel totally safe. Even the maids who clean were friendly. It was impressive. We’re definitely coming back.
