★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the heart and soul of San Miguel De Allende. Make sure to stop by on late Sunday afternoons for free music events and firework displays. The lighting of the cathedrals is beautiful at night.

Great public space used for all sorts of things— the day of the dead market at the end of October and beginning of November, artesian fairs, university events, concerts, etc. Great place to visit as a tourist or as a local. Also great pigeon chasing!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ this large square offers a great deal of activity and entertainment..the lively Ignacio Ramirez market is very close-by, many restaurants offer very delicious fare, the square is full of music and art ..this civic square was built in 1555.. it is a major place for meeting friends, relaxing and watching the many activities that occur.. one central feature of the square is the very prominent statue of Ignacio Allende on a horse gains your immediate attention on your arrival..
