★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Maestranza: (Sociedad de Equitación Militar) Es una sociedad de caballeros cuyo objeto es ejercitarse en la equitación, y que en su origen fue escuela del manejo de las armas a caballo, además debe de contar con un taller donde se construyen o elaboran piezas de artillería y un cuartel donde se almacenen.
En Guadalajara el nombre de esta calle se debió a que ahí, frente a la plaza del mismo nombre esquina con Prisciliano Sánchez, en 1790 se construyó o adoptó un edificio para acuartelar “La Real Maestranza de Artillería de Cataluña”; por órdenes de Antonio de Villaurrutia, Gobernador de la Intendencia de Guadalajara, cumpliendo este a su vez las órdenes de Juan Vicente de Güemes, Conde de Revillagigedo, virrey de Nueva España.

Maestranza: (Society of Military Riding) It is a society of gentlemen whose object is to exercise in the horsemanship, and that in its origin was school of the handling of the arms on horseback, in addition it must count on a workshop where they are constructed or elaborated pieces of artillery and a barracks where they are stored.
In Guadalajara the name of this street was due to the fact that there, in front of the square of the same name with Prisciliano Sánchez, in 1790 a building was built or adopted to set up "The Royal Artillery Museum of Catalonia"; by orders of Antonio de Villaurrutia, Governor of the Intendance of Guadalajara, fulfilling this in turn the orders of Juan Vicente de Güemes, Count of Revillagigedo, Viceroy of New Spain.
