Plaza Las Américas - 77712 Playa del Carmen

Very busy this evening (Friday). They had temp checks (voluntary) but no sanitizer gel at any of the entrances. They were not limiting the capacity even though we are in yellow but it still wasn't overcrowded and everyone was wearing masks with the exception being the food court. Good amount of selections in the food court, but for some reason there are 3 different 'chinese' food stalls. I've always liked the food when I'm here. Alternatively there is a large Chedruai that also has plenty of hot and cold food options. Would recommend a visit.

I stayed in Playa Del Carmen for a month and visited this mall on 3 occasions to go to the Cinoplex. Each time I visited, my 11 year old daughter and I experienced rude treatment from locals. Women would stare and point at us. 1. One woman sholder bumped my 11 year old purposeful, even when my daughter tried to avoid her. She walked between us towards her. My daughter is tall, and with a mask on, she vould pass for a teen. Still, we were baffled by this type of aggression. 2. The second time we went, I stopped into the market to grab a few items before heading home. The lines in the market were super long. Based on other reviews, this seems to be normal. We were waiting in line for about 20 min with a few items in hand. A woman with a cart full of groceries tried to get in front of us. I said no. There were other people behind me too. My spanish is limited, but I could tell from her tone, and a few words I recognized, that she was angry with me. No one intervened, just watched as she continued to disrespect me. I said nothing. She eventually left and went to another line. 3. Today we tried to go to the movies for the last time since we are leaving tomorrow. Someone began throwing hard candy at us from behind. I tried to ignore it, but I eventually yelled at them to stop. Rude! They continued to do it, so my daughter and I left 20 min into the movie. I reported the incident to the manager, who issued a refund. So disappointed by my experience in Playa Del Carmen. I traveled here with my daughter and stayed outdide the tourist area so that we could experience and appreciate our ancestral lineage. I hate that she experienced this type of hatred, classism, colorism, racism. I had high hopes for Playa Del Carmen, but it appears that unless I stay in the tourism area, we are targets.

I really appreciate how beneficial Plaza Las Américas can be, it's truly an all-in-one place, and space, to be: you can do your entire grocery shopping; grab breakfast, lunch, a snack, or dinner; visit a department store or two; go to the cinema; pay your electricity bill; do your laundry; go to the gym; wash your vehicle; and you can even burn a little cash at the casino ?. ? ❤ ?

Great shopping mall to visit when you Are down. Note the local rates from most of playa is 50 pesos... they will try to charge you more but just walk to the next taxi if they don’t budge on the price.

Wonderful mall with Sears Krispy Kreme Donuts and many restaurants and stores. The Sears here is more like our Macy's back home. It is 1 today and stores just starting to open . Doing our thing Christmas movie

Great shopping center, best churros I've had in Mexico yet! ?. Plenty of stores, many American food chains restaurants. I had a great time shopping around. They even had a Krispy Kream! Wow how exciting.

Good mall in Playa del Carmen, it has a lot of stores and restaurants. It is not in the tourist area, this is more for the local people.

I’ve asked our cab driver to take us to a local shopping mall where normal people go. It’s exactly what I asked for. We loved it, they have everything you may need, you can buy souvenirs, clothes, dulces. Me ha encantado!
