★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No es un sitio del que puedas esperar mucho, se trata de una pequeña plaza en donde en ocasiones se llevan a cabo reuniones por parte del gobierno local o algunas juntas.
Es un sitio emblemático, por el hecho de tener valor histórico junto con el pueblo de San Jerónimo Lídice. Creo que le falta un poco de mantenimiento a sus jardineras principalmente. En fin, quizá sea un sitio dónde puedas tomar un ligero descanso de una caminata o paseo en bici.
It is not a place you can expect much, it is a small square where sometimes the local government meetings or some meetings are held.
It is an emblematic site, due to the fact of having historical value along with the town of San Jerónimo Lídice. I think it is lacking a little maintenance on your planters mainly. Anyway, maybe it is a place where you can take a light break from a walk or bike ride.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Me llamo Lídice y tardé 35 años para conocer este lugar en la ciudad de México. Ya sabía de la existencia de la colonia, pero fue hasta que el Facebook me unió con un grupo de personas que me llevaron a la experiencia de no solo visitar, sino de conocer la historia.
De antemano Lídice es un pueblo de la República Checa que durante la segunda guerra mundial fue masacrado, para ser exactos un 10 de junio de 1942. Esto por instrucciones de Hitler en venganza por el atentado contra un alto militar.
Posterior a la tragedia, varios países del mundo adoptaron el nombre en diferentes poblaciones con la finalidad de que el nombre de Lídice no desapareciera, un acto de rechazo al lamentable hecho.
México fue el primer país de América en adoptar el nombre. Y lo puso a uno de sus pueblos originarios en la Magdalena Contreras. Así el pueblo de San Jerónimo Aculco ahora es San Jerónimo Lídice.
La escuela superior de guerra donó un espacio donde actualmente se sitúa un memorial a Lídice, una escultura, un mural y las placas guardan discretamente la memoria y rinden honor a las víctimas (niños y adultos).
Si gustan conocer a más detalle está historia no duden en buscar en internet. Actualmente hay mucha información sobre Lídice, aunque hay poca sobre esta plaza.
My name is Lídice and it took me 35 years to get to know this place in Mexico City. I already knew about the existence of the colony, but it was not until Facebook joined me with a group of people that took me to the experience of not only visiting, but of knowing the history.
Beforehand Lídice is a town in the Czech Republic that was massacred during the Second World War, to be exact on June 10, 1942. This was on the instructions of Hitler in revenge for the attack against a military high.
After the tragedy, several countries of the world adopted the name in different populations in order that the name of Lídice not disappear, an act of rejection of the unfortunate fact.
Mexico was the first country in America to adopt the name. And he put it to one of its original towns in the Magdalena Contreras. Thus the town of San Jerónimo Aculco is now San Jerónimo Lídice.
The superior war school donated a space where a memorial to Lídice is currently located, a sculpture, a mural and the plaques discreetly keep the memory and honor the victims (children and adults).
If you like to know more about this history, do not hesitate to search the internet. Currently there is a lot of information about Lídice, although there is little about this place.
