بينما كان الأب يقوم بتلميع سيارته الجديدة إذ بالإبن ذو الست سنوات يلتقط حجراً ويقوم بعمل خدوش على جانب السيارة و في قمة غضبه، إذ بالأب يأخذ بيد إبنه ويضربه عليها عدة مرات بدون أن يشعر أنه كان يستخدم مفكاً مما أدى إلى بتر أصابع الإبن.
في المستشفى، كان الابن يسأل الأب متى سوف تنمو أصابعي؟
وكان الأب في غاية الألم! عاد الأب إلى السيارة وبدأ يركلها عدة مرات وعند جلوسه على الأرض، نظر إلى الخدوش التي أحدثها الإبن فوجده قد كتب: ' أنا أحبك يا أبي '!
العبرة من القصة : بالتأني السلامة وبالسرعة الندامة ...
