Porto Bello Bistro and Lounge - 63735 Puerto Vallarta

Without a doubt it is one of our three fav in Nuevo Vallarta area. After the through year (almost 2!) of pandemia, and seeing how much all places suffered, we deeply congratulate Mario and his team for resisting and making such a great come back… eating at PB is just a perfect experience all around!

We heard great things about this place so decided to try it during our most recent trip, unfortunately we were pretty disappointed. The ambiance was beautiful and the lasagna was delicious. The wait was long after ordering despite not being very busy, My Pollo alla pizzaiola was cold when it came out, and there was no kids menu or smaller portions for the kids. We won't be in a hurry to return.

The food at this restaurant was quite delicious - large shrimp; seafood pasta filled with mussels, clams and shrimp; yummy fusilli with black olives and artichokes; and tasty cannoloni. They were out of the chocolate crepes I asked for but the tiramisu was one of the best I have ever enjoyed. I didn't give the restaurant a '5' because of the following: We reserved outside but were told we had to eat inside where distancing protocols were definitely NOT being followed AND... the wait service was THE WORST(!) ever!!! We started by ordering bruschetta and salads. After 20 minutes my husband went to the waiter and asked about it. It arrived within minutes but 25 minutes later we still did not have the salads so, again, my husband approached the waiter. He immediately sent another waiter to ORDER them. We canceled the salads and ordered our mains as it was already 8:00pm. We were not happy. Our orders arrived pretty quickly and were delicious as I mentioned already. We were never offered anything other than "sorry" for being forgotten - twice! We won't go back to give them a second chance because we have several other good restaurants to try.

Great risotto with fish but wife's fettuccine octopus was not great.

Excellent ambiance, we shared the Calamari (for 2) to start and it was very tasty. Our main courses were two of the better meals we had in a long time. I had the Linguini Vongole with small shrimp, the pasta was perfectly cooked and the clams and seafood tasted very fresh. Our service was very good as well. We will be back next year on our yearly trip to Nuevo.

The food was good and we were having a pleasant time until the waiter said he needed our table for another reservation. We had made a reservation as well. I almost went ballistic yelling for the manager. That has never happened anywhere before. They apparently gave the other couple a seat near us and we continued with our dessert. The service was almost too quick and now we know why.

Excellent attentive service. I had pasta, my husband ossobucco, with delicious risotto. Both dishes were cooked perfectly. We started with shared calamari. Cooked to perfection and such a big order for 2, could easily be for 3 or 4 people. We did have 2 bottles of Prosecco on our bill so our final bill seemed expensive, but the food portion was reasonable. The Prosecco was frosty cold and perfect with our dinners and the warm evening. The marina view is beautiful, looking at the yachts and small boats. We really had a wonderful evening.

Great on the River Supper! We were here about ten years ago and loved it, finally got back this year 2021 and it got better! Excellent wine selection. Food was perfect! Catered to my picky kids. Desserts were amazing. Ambience was superb. The waiters were super attentive. Next time we are in PV we will be back! Highly recommend, especially if you are on a date!
