The owners/locals/family is super friendly and helpful.
Well equipped, good beds, good free breakfast. Perfect place.
The only point of critique is the cold in San Cristobal. There is no real warm room to go to in the hostal and the temperature in San Cristobal is quite cold most of the time. But the same problem occurs everywhere else in San Cris (airbnb, coworking space - all cold...)...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We traveled to San Cristóbal with a friend and stayed to Posada del Abuelito for a night. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, we took an excursion with them and it was perfect. Also, the food for breakfast was great and the place/living room is very friendly and makes everyone talk to each other

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hostel. However, breakfast is horrible. I suggest booking a room without breakfast. Otherwise, you would pay for nothing.
Rooms near the street is quite noisy.
Overall, I liked the ambience of the hotel.

I appreciated their messages.
I made a new friend who told me she stayed years ago and that they had the best breakfasts. She loved the place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place! Very affordable, friendly service. We stayed during New years eve. Loved the company of other hostel mates (most of them were from Europe). Loved our stay. Highly recommend if you are looking for a budget friendly, yet clean and fancy hostel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in (and I’ve stayed in many!). The vibe is quite chill and definitely not a party hostel, but it’s still so easy to meet other travellers here (they organise different events every night). The breakfast was amazing and I actually made an effort to wake up a bit earlier for it which isn’t something that I usually do! The staff are fantastic and the facilities are really clean. 10/10 stay!
