My experience was the definition of terrible when it comes to customer service. The hotel does not have hot water and does not accept card payments and makes them pay more if they want to ask for any kind of "confirmation" that they have paid in cash. When I arrived at night they made a lot of problems for me and they didn't want to let me deliver the cash the next day because as they said "you don't sleep without paying" (I wanted to pay, but I didn't have the cash), I didn't want to go to the ATM because of the time. I finally managed to convince the owner to accept payment through PayPal but once the transaction was done, the same owner, with a lot of face, told me to pay her 45 pesos more because PayPal had charged her a commission. Despite this ugly start, the room seemed quite clean, the Wi-Fi worked well so I decided to stay a few more days (I always paid for everything on time, in cash). The last day I had some unforeseen events and it turned out that I was not going to be back in time to check out, so I called the receptionist and told him that I would like to stay one more night. I returned to the hotel at 10:30 p.m. and again, due to the time, I did not feel very safe, walking with cash, alone in the streets of Merida, because I wanted to make the payment in the morning at check out time ( could not pay again with paypal because the owner said it was only once and the account was not hers). Since I was very tired, I fell asleep in my room and at 23:40 the receptionist started knocking on the door and the WINDOW very loudly, which scared me because I woke up suddenly and didn't know what was happening. I opened the door for him and he told me that I had not paid him and that I had to do it "immediately", because I told him that it seemed highly incorrect to wake up a guest at midnight and that he would pay him in the morning when he had the cash. . The boy admitted that the boss puts a lot of pressure on him, which was visible throughout my stay. That employee seemed literally afraid of his boss and her reactions. She wanted HER BOSS to call me directly, but she didn't want to because they made me go downstairs in PAJAMA at midnight to talk to her on the cell phone at reception. I heard 5 times that you can't sleep without paying as if I wanted to rob them, which made me feel very bad. I explained to that certain Alejandra, the owner, that as a woman I don't want to walk ALONE at that time in Mérida, especially with cash, but she didn't seem to empathize with me. He was exclusively interested in his 400 pesos without issuing any document that could confirm the transaction. When I went to the cashier they harassed me on the street which felt really ugly, then I went back and left the money with them at the front desk. I couldn't fall asleep again due to the stress they had caused me. I can't imagine treating a customer like that. It is scandalous. Never again. I regret every peso spent on that place. If you can, avoid.

A great hotel at an incredible price! You get a clean, modern room with all the mod cons like air conditioning and hot water. They also have a fairly spacious bathroom. Without a moment's hesitation it was the best option, because having more expensive hotels, they looked old and gloomy. On the other hand, the Posada del Mayab everything looks newer and is very nice. The attention at the reception is super attentive. One block away is the ADO bus station and the center is really close by walking.

It is a hotel that is not so close to the Center, but it is not far either (walking, it is about 10 minutes from the cathedral) ... A huge advantage is that it is one block from the ADO, the room they gave me (the 9) It is quite nice: clean and comfortable bed, the bathroom is spacious (it is not small like in other places), it has climate, hot water, TV and Internet. The value for money for me was excellent, check-in is at 3 PM and check-out is at 1 PM.
