It is a clear 10! Everything was perfect, speaking of the stuff, the accommodation, the breakfast and the walking distance from city centre. Hope to come back to San Cristobal once and stay there.

A great place to stay! Very comfy bed and fabulous breakfast that's different everyday. A great backyard that you can enjoy your coffee or breakfast too!

Given that the owner again faulted us for the events, I have decided to give more information: 1. We had bedbug bites the first two nights, we have pictures from both mornings to back this up. 2. We did not have bedbug bites before coming there and we did not have them after taking our horseback ride on our LAST DAY (the day we checked out, three days after we let the owners know of the room's condition). 3. Disinfecting the room helps with sanitary issues such as Covid 19, but it does not affect any bugs and therefore does not help with infestations. Bedbugs can either be killed with heat, freezing items or toxins. If toxins were not used, the bed probably still has bugs. If toxins were used, then we did have to sleep in a room that was fumigated. Again, we have not received fresh towels and we had to make sure to treat all our clothes after staying there. 4. We did not have bedbugs before and therefore could not have brought them with us. It is unacceptable to not even consider this piece of information, and even more to publicly accuse us of that again. We have therefore decided to take away the rest of the stars. Everything was nice (the room, breakfast etc), a little far away from the city center. But unfortunately after the first nights we woke up with bites over our bodies, and were guessing it was bed bugs. Given that we didn’t have any issues with that beforehand and only started our travels, we let the owners know. They checked the room and found bugs and therefore fumigated the room. When we asked to be accommodated with a new room, they implied we were the ones that brought the bugs with us and let us sleep in the same room. There were no discounts and we didn’t get fresh towels (given that the fume usually is toxic, I guess this should have been done).

I'm currently staying at this poussada for 7 nights and let's just say that this place is super nice. The location is great : near the center of San Cristobal de Las Casas (5 minutes walk) in a very calm and secure area. The breakfast is really good. The bedrooms are quite small but with everything needed. The owners are super hyper nice. I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Everyone is smiling and happy to share great advice with you. One day we had to wake up really early with my fiancee (3.30 am) to go on a tour and 1/ the owners had prepared us a lunch bag for the tour 2/ Antonio waked up at the same hour as us just to be sure we managed to catch our bus and everything was okay. Really reeeeaaally nice. And to finish with : the price is really affordable. To sum up : if your looking for a place that is well located, cute, not expensive, with nice people : this is the place to go.

A really lovely accomodation with nice gardens. The owner did a wounderful job in perfect English and helped us also to reserve rooms at our next destination. Many nice restaurants in this area and also a Liquor store is not far away.

The service at Ocho Barrios couldn’t be faulted. Luis, the manager, spoke perfect English and responded to requests within minutes. He organised a private Mexican market & cooking class for us with his wife Pati which was fantastic. The garden room is beautiful. Hot water for every shower. Could not recommend this hotel any more! We hope to be back!
