Estamos situados en la mera cúspide de la Sierra Madre del Sur, en la población histórica de San Mateo Rio Hondo. En las ultimas décadas, hemos transformado a nuestra casa familiar en una bonita y rústica posada. El nombre 'Yegoyoxi' significa 'Rio de Arena' en Zapoteco , y es el antiguo nombre de esta comunidad.

C	Claudio Nahmad on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Me gusta este lugar, los dueños son muy atentos, las vistas de la sierra son increíbles y está a un paso de los senderos del bosque. Se rentan cuartos de cabaña por noche con leña y lugar para cocinar. Si andan por aquí, no sólo se queden en la posada como la mayoría de la gente hace, salgan a caminar, hay mucho qué explorar. El Campanario está a unos 3 km de distancia y más allá está la unión entre el río Yegoyoxi y el río San Sebastián, un lugar que los lugareños tienen como Sagrado. Se dice que hay un pequeño templo Zapoteca justo en la unión de estos dos ríos pero que sigue enterrado por la montaña y parece un cerro. Nosotros logramos ver lo que parecían ser rocas rectangulares apiladas una sobre la otra, con bordes rectos. Será que fue un lugar de adoración? Recuerden no tirar basura, no arrancar flora nativa ni nada que pueda dañar este frágil ecosistema. I like this place, the owners are very attentive, the views of the mountains are incredible and it is one step away from the forest trails. Cabin rooms are rented per night with firewood and a place to cook. If you walk around here, don't just stay at the inn like most people do, go for a walk, there's plenty to explore. El Campanario is about 3 km away and beyond is the junction between the Yegoyoxi river and the San Sebastián river, a place that the locals hold as Sacred. It is said that there is a small Zapotec temple just at the junction of these two rivers but that it is still buried by the mountain and looks like a hill. We were able to see what appeared to be rectangular rocks stacked on top of each other, with straight edges. Could it be a place of worship? Remember not to litter, to uproot native flora or anything that could harm this fragile ecosystem.

And then most recent time was in 2019. The cabins are lovely, the view spectacular. They have composting toilets & a back gate directly into the forest. And the family is super helpful & knowledgeable. The rates are terrific. I could go on & on.

J	Joanna Quinsey on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful location, our room was small and a bit dark but we liked it for that because it was very cosy, especially with the fire lit at night, and the gardens are so well cared for it is better to hang out outside of your room anyway. There is great access to the woods and for walking to the cascadas etc. However the best part of our stay was getting to know Cecilia and Próspero, they manage this place so well and truly care about the environment and their community. It was a joy to see and we appreciated their advice and knowledge a lot during our stay. Lots of love, all the best for the new chapter for the family ? ❤ Joanna and Orion
