It has been said that this city is the safest location in Mexico. Many of the residents cite the crime statistics as proof of a city safe enough to raise a family here, and they are right. With a per capita crime rate of less than half of Mexico's national average, Piedras Negras is truly one of the safest places in all of Mexico. The local economy has been bolstered by this, and many jobs have been created to accommodate the growing population.
