Presidencia Municipal de Acatlán Puebla - 74949 Acatlán de Osorio
TOPONIMIA
El topónimo Acatlán es de origen náhuatl. Deriva de la palabra ácatl (carrizo) y el locativo abundancial -tlan, de donde se traduce como En el carrizal o Donde abundan los carrizos (Lugar cerca de cañas o carrizos).
EXTENSIÓN
Tiene una superficie de 607.78 kilómetros cuadrados, que lo ubica en el noveno lugar con respecto a los demás municipios del Estado.
OROGRAFÍA
El municipio se ubica dentro de dos regiones morfológicas; a partir de la cota 1500 hacia el norte, forma parte de la Sierra de Acatlán y de la misma cota hacia al sur, al Valle de Acatlán al sudeste colinda con la Mixteca baja, sirviendo como límite el Río Petlalcingo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un lugar muy agradable, la gente amigable y trabajadora, encuentras frutas que se producen en la zona llevada por los habitantes de los pueblos cercanos, en la zona cercana al mercado. Desafortunadamente los policías que están en la zona del parque tienen el hábito de extorsionar y "ofrecer su ayuda a cambio de un porcentaje de las multas" a los automovilistas que cometen alguna infracción amedrentando en quitar placas o documentos. Lo hacen a los locales y principalmente si llevas placas de otros estados, si vas de paso o estas de visitante.
A very nice place, friendly and hard-working people, you find fruits that are produced in the area carried by the inhabitants of the nearby towns, in the area near the market. Unfortunately, the police who are in the park area have the habit of extorting and "offering their help in exchange for a percentage of the fines" to motorists who commit a violation by intimidating in removing plates or documents. A BEAUTIFUL PLACE RICH IN ITS GASTRONOMY, UNFORTUNATELY THE NARCO HAS INVADED IT, THEY WALK LIKE JUAN THROUGH THEIR HOUSE AND THE AUTHORITIES ALLOW IT, THE QUESTION IS WHY THEY ALLOW IT.
