En esta ocasión te contare algo de la historia del edificio donde se encuentra la Presidencia de Lerdo, Durango. Se inicia la construcción de la Casa Municipal el 5 de Mayo de 1866, y el encargado seria Don Francisco Vidaña, teniendo los muros un espesor de una vara y habiendo tenido un costo de 1,261.00 tres reales y ¾. Con el nombre de Casa Consistoriales, fue conocido este edificio hasta el 17 de junio de 1905, en que se denominó Palacio Municipal de Gobierno Municipal. Es importante destacar y señalar, que nunca se dejó placa alguna señalando la administración, la fecha, ni el constructor de la importancia histórica que reviste. El coronel Don Ramón Castro, en su carácter de Jefe Político fue el iniciador del segundo piso, que dio principio el 23 de septiembre de 1904 y se terminó el 7 de junio de 1905. Como se ve la fecha señalada en la parte superior del edificio de la Presidencia Municipal, si bien es perfectamente la correspondiente a la construcción de la parte superior del propio edificio, no es la fecha que debería originalmente haber sido inscrita. Como puedes ver en la siguiente imagen el edificio no ha cambiado mucho desde su construcción. Sigue siendo un bello edificio en la ciudad.
