★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an industrial pier that the cruise boats dock at. There is a small shopping area that you walk through on the way out. The vendors are pretty aggressive trying to get you to buy their stuff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely a tourist attraction. There's about a dozen shops but they all sell the same exact things and prices are the same so no point in trying to "shop around." You can haggle a little bit at some and try to get prices dropped but it doesn't always work. Outside of the terminal, going into Progresso, is scary. The walls looks like they're about to fall off. The shuttles have curtains covering the windows and for good reason, it's not a pretty ride into the city. The city is no really no better than the terminal, prices are too high and someone is trying to sell you something every time you turn around. You can't walk in piece without people trying to sell you stuff. It's a little annoying and not really worth it to me since the beach wasn't as pretty as I expected it to be.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Found a "nice" shop near the boot store with prices clearly displayed. Items, mostly ladies wear and jewelry, reasonably priced. Unfortantely, our card information was stolen by a female shop cashier . Several thousands of dollars of fraudulent spending (tires, Tommy Hilfiger, watches/jewelry) were charged to our account. Suggest using cash and hide your cards!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The facility was nice. They abundantly offered free drinks as soon as you walked into the terminal. STAY IN THE TERMINAL! As soon as you leave you will be pulled in 20 directions to "come to my store... see, I have for you ..."
Shops there were pretty nice but you were hounded constantly by the people working who were trying to sell to you or to get you to come into their store. It got to the point that we just went back to the ship. Instead of letting us leisurely shop where and how we wanted, the constant pressure drove us back to the ship. So we bought nothing. Their high pressure sales tactic works against them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ new facility, clean. We purchased some things, if they approach and wanted a sell, never pay what they are asking. We paid less than half for the stuff we purchased. The courtesy buses into town were nice, air conditioned, with a nice driver.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean terminal with fast moving embark/debark. Access to and from ship has you passing through a shopping center area. Cannot bypass the shops. Some hawking for photos from locals dressed in Mayan costumes but not extremely pushy. Guides are well versed on local history and Mayan culture. Tips welcomed.
