★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent across the board; staff were helpful and polite and the facilities were clean and easy to access. Stunning scenery and both the archetecture and gardens are inviting. Would only note some of the food was average, but the presentation and service were again excellent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing! Staff was helpful and friendly. Facilities were well kept with lots of activities for the kids. The pool on was better than excepted with a swim up bar staffed by fun and energetic bar hosts. Highly recommend this place! Photos were taken at the sister location in downtown; which as a guest of Emerald Bay you will also have access too. Just a short 10 minute taxi ride away that will cost you about $6 US

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The resort itself is beautiful. Hotel buildings, suites, and villas are surrounded by palm trees, right next to the beach. The service here has been amazing, they speak decent English to assist you and bring you drinks/food. One pool has a swim-up bar, and they do different activities like water aerobics and water volleyball tournaments. You have to wake up pretty early to get towels and reserve a good spot next to the pool before they're all taken up. The 24-hour room service charge is $4USD.
There isn't much to do on the resort aside from relaxing, swimming, eating, and drinking. They do have a full spa equipped with a gym, steam room, jacuzzi, etc. The food on the resort is.. okay. The drinks are poured pretty heavily. If you venture out into Mazatlan to explore, there are plenty of markets and restaurants to choose from. Plenty of beautiful sights to see. We came right after a catholic festival, so everyone was leaving and most places were closed.
The only experience I didn't enjoy was 4 hours at Kelly's Bar on the resort. Reservations at 5, the table wasn't ready until 6, started bringing us salad and soup at 7 and the main course was closer to 8:30 pm, dessert by 9. By the end of the waiting folks had lost some of their appetites and were just getting tired and drunk.
All in all, it's a very nice place. I recommend doing the all-inclusive package. I'm not sure if I'd come back, though.
One more note, they do on-site covid testing the day before you depart which is nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just got back from emerald bay and wow This place use to be really nice! My parents have been owners for 10yrs and my aunt and her family for 6yrs. Nothing has been updated since then, and actually more things have been taken away. Their use to be a pillow menu (pillows In the room are horrible, very small and lumpy) their was an ice cream shop outside by the pool, Bistro use to have a completely different menu that wasn’t repetitive to the rest of the resort/ pool menu, the beds use to be bigger with actually fitted mattress sheets etc.. I could go on. When you do a tour they show you the “new rooms” they have been showing the same rooms for the last 4yrs, yet none of the rooms have been redone.. the model has been like that for literally 4yrs. It’s very unfortunate because my family use to rave about this place. We use our points for the Pueblo bonito in town (very clean and they are consistent )and Cabo San Lucas now. Emerald bay has great staff and the waiters at the pool are great. But the quality of the place has gone down yet the maintenance fees have gone up! As you can see by a lot of other reviews the pictures of the rooms they show don’t match in person. And STILL no golf course!!! They don’t realize the money they could be making with the golf course (a big reason my dad bought with them). First the excuse was a hurricane, then Covid and this year the excuse for not updating rooms was because there working on other locations. Take care of your properties! It’s a shame it was such a nice place I have a lot of memories there

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been coming to this resort regularly over the past 15 years. It is hands down, the best resort in Mazatlan. The rooms are always clean, the staff is incredibly friendly/fun and the food is incredible! We also love that the beach is completely private with no vendors! If you are on the fence about booking here, jump off it and go! You want be disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food needed some love and care at the bistro. Sunday brunch was delicious at the buffet. Buildings are in need of some minor touch ups, but the grounds are very well kept. All the staff was very friendly and helpful with all requests. Affordable family vacation spot, but no activities for kids or night life other than Kelly's bar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pros
Quiet other than a few slamming doors that unfortunately the door does it on its own.
Beautiful grounds with waterfalls, fish ponds, statues, and palm trees.
Food is the best we’ve had in all inclusive resorts. The main buffet restaurant changes food types for dinner daily. Bistro was awesome (Pizza was the only negative)
Spa was amazing and our massages were worth the cost.
Staff - they go out of their way to help you
Location - about 150 pesos gets you to the broad walk
Pools stay open late 8 pm
They have a phone app that helps with restaurant menus
Cons
Needs some kind of entertainment at night other than one guy singing 3 nights a week. They have a ton of rooftop space that is not used
At 8 pm on Tuesday we were the only ones walking around
More golf carts or a way to summon them because the property is huge
Although food was great we would like them to also shuffle breakfast and lunch menus like they do dinner.
Premium alcohol is not included in all inclusive (even though it was listed in our benefits
Because of no or little entertainment we tried to watch movies in our room to no avail. Television boasts on demand movies but doesn’t work (2 different rooms 4 different televisions)
It’s not a swim-able ocean but still beautiful

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The bed was comfortable and the resort was clean yet the room was pretty dated.
For our HONEYMOON Package they wrote out "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY" in tiny sharp rocks that managed to get stuck in our feet even after we were sure they were all gone.
Service was great at the poolside restaurants. The"Bistro" was the only restaurant worth having dinner or breakfast at. If I'm being honest the buffet was pretty trash. We went once for dinner and once for breakfast and both times the food was pretty gross. The time-share vultures were especially aggressive here, even wandering throughout the property and attempting to make their sale while we were relaxing by the pool! The shuttle between resorts is not running so be prepared to spend $$$ any time you want to leave the place. Just a heads up, The taxi drivers the hotel calls for you are twice the price of one called from a ride share app. You just may have to wait a few minutes for a driver to be in the area as the resort is quite remote.
Overall a good experience but I'd be hesitant to book here again until I'm at least 65+ years old.
