★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best places I have ever eaten, service is awesome!! A few kilometers away from Merida but the trip is worth it big time!!
We basically went through whole menu and every single bite was amazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were 3 and had lunch today
The cochinita was good
The longaniza sausages were very dry and hard to chew
The guacamole was good but the portion was very small in relation to the price— about double of what it costs in other restaurants
The flan napolitano was under average
Service was excellent
The location was very pleasant
Overall a rather expensive disappointment
A restaurant that charges these kind of prices needs better food

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An absolute delight. The location is a little out of the way but the food is done in the old way. Underground and over 14 hours. The building is immaculate and full of history and beauty. It is meticulous.
The drinks are unique and unforgettable. I had the Maya Margarita. Amazing. I also had the house specialty, Cocinita Pibil.
Sure, you can get it at every other place in the Yucatan. But this was the best I've had by far. And wow! the prices were so low for the quality and style and service.
GO!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place but food is not great, definitely not worth the price. Cochinita was dry as cotton and really not that tasty.
Avoid!!! Go to the markets in Mérida and eat there instead. Waaay better food for 1/4 of the price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took my wife and kids, as well as my parents to this restaurant, only because I had seen them on Netflix's Taco Chronicles. I was anticipating excellence. I needless to say ordered the cochinita pibil as did both my parents. I couldn't tell you what my wife ordered, that's how uneventful it was. Our server gloated that la cochinita was cooked for 15 hours "en el estilo pib". For my taste, it was cooked about 3 hours too long. It was dry and no amount of juices could help it go down. There were small pieces of gelatinous deliciousness in the broth which was the only saving grace. We went on a Wednesday early afternoon and there must have been maybe two other tables. I share this piece of information only to give context to the fact that our servers moved slow as molasses! We ordered coffee hoping that it could make us feel better about the experience. El mesero must have gone to Costa Rica for the coffee, it took nearly 25 minutes to get our coffee and it was luke warm. Not a good way to start my gastronomical tour of the Yucatan Peninsula.
