★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El albarradón de San Cristóbal o albarradón de Ecatepec es una obra hidráulica de posible origen prehispánico y que fue reconstruida y modificada durante el periodo colonial y los siglos XIX y XX. Tenía la finalidad de regular las aguas de los lagos de Zumpango y Xaltocan para evitar inundaciones en el valle de México. Es el único elemento que se conserva del sistema hidráulico de control de las aguas de los lagos del Valle de México.
Se encuentra ubicado en la carretera federal a Pachuca. Tiene una extensión de 4.5 km que van desde San Cristóbal Ecatepec a Venta de Carpio.
The albarradón of San Cristóbal or albarradón de Ecatepec is a hydraulic work of possible pre-Hispanic origin and was rebuilt and modified during the colonial period and the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It was intended to regulate the waters of the lakes of Zumpango and Xaltocan to avoid flooding in the valley of Mexico. It is the only element that is conserved of the hydraulic system of control of the waters of the lakes of the Valley of Mexico.
It is located on the federal highway to Pachuca. It has an extension of 4.5 km that goes from San Cristóbal Ecatepec to Venta de Carpio.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un lugar en Ecatepec con tanta historia que lamentablemente es desconocido para la mayoría de los Ecatepenses, urge mayor difusión y protección de esta zona arqueología del mundo Colonial que junto con el albarradon de Venta de Carpio, las otras dos compuertas que aún existen, así como el puente de fierro y la Casa de Los virreyes, son el baluarte de la historia antigua de Ecatepec, visiten este lugar.
A place in Ecatepec with so much history that unfortunately it is unknown to most of the Ecatepenses, there is an urgent need for greater dissemination and protection of this archeological zone of the Colonial world that, together with the Carpio Albarradon, the other two gates that still exist, and the iron bridge and the House of the viceroys, are the bastion of the ancient history of Ecatepec, visit this place.
