Curiosity satisfied. This place was a block from our hotel. We walked by it everyday. Small hole in the wall that had a huge line of hipsters outside on Friday night. We'd had pulque before, but didn't know what to expect. Plain pulque is very cheap (a buck for a half liter), but the special was two full liters of flavored (Curado) for $MX 80. Too much to drink, not too exciting. Fresh pulque is slightly bubbly, sour, and satisfying if a bit perplexing. The Tlayuda we ordered was nothing like the Oaxacan dish - think chorizo piled on a fried tortilla. I'm pretty sure this is what wrecked my gut for the next week. I'm not knocking a local hang-out. Every scene is unique and transitory. I've been to many dive bars, and it's always a love/hate thing. Spiritu Santo just ain't my thing. This is was off the beaten tourist path, it is what it is. If you do stop in, go simple, go cheap.

By far the worst pulque I have ever had. It’s more juice than pulque. I would estimate it’s about 75% juice. The service for such a small place is so incredibly bad. The guy with all the metal in his face has the worst attitude and gives abysmal service. Even after 15 minutes he still couldn’t add 45 and 45 to make 90 pesos. Others have said that they include a tip in the bill without asking but we just left before it came because they took soooo long and plus there was a queue of people (Friday evening) waiting to get in but the staff just do not care. Everyone (staff and customers) all look miserable. Awful atmosphere. If you love pulque, you will hate his place. Go elsewhere unless you’re a hipster or tourist then you don’t care. AVOID!!

Great service and delicious traditional pulque served here. They also sell “Pulque Curado”, which is flavored pulque.

Tasty pulqueria where they let us sample all the available flavors complimentary so we could pick our flavors. I had an apple pulque as well as a natural pulque. Huge drinks at very reasonable prices. The food is also tasty, especially for bar food. We went twice in our one week visit, as we enjoyed the atmosphere, price, and flavors. An eclectic local crowd with some fun liberal art and stickers. A good place for small groups, but it would be tough for a large group.
