We thought that Casa Del Lago was an Italian restaurant, it's online dinner menu boasting a Mozzarella Bar and many Italian dishes. When we arrived and looked at the menu, it was clear that while there were some. Italian dishes listed, the Mozzarella bar was gone, and the restaurant in transition, looking to find its identity. My wife ordered the Tattaglia Frutti de Mare, which turned out to be mostly Octopus and some Snapper, with only a couple of Shrimp and Mussels. But what killed the dish was its drowning in sauce. The homemade Tattaglia pasta, which should have been the star, was completely overwhelmed, along with the seafood. Too bad, it could have been a contender. On the other hand, the Rib Eye that I ordered, which was not shown on the online menu, was absolutely outstanding. The spice rub used only served to enhance the flavor of this exquisite, perfectly cooked cut of beef. I would return if just for this dish alone. I hope that this restaurant decides on what it wants to be when it grows up. It has the makings to become one of Myakoba's best.

I agree with Bruce Bernstein’s comments re the rib-eye steak- absolutely delish & the charred spice rub was perfect. I too would go back just for that. The other dishes from other parties were undecidedly underwhelming. The hotel is undergoing construction (removal of the Palapa built by Philip Green for his private party a couple of years ago & a useless eyesore to be replaced with another pool). However the service as always here (we were here last year as well) was exceptional.

A must try, had I known that this fabulous restaurant existed. Everything was fresh and prepared by someone who knew what he was doing. The Red Snapper was to die for. The oysters were probably the best I've had in Riviera Maya. I could go on and on about the meal itself. The staff was extremely professional and knowledgeable. We had a little issue when we arrived but Diego Gomez took care of it like you'd expect from a Michelin star establishment. This young man knows how to run a restaurant. I give him credit for making our lunch an unforgettable experience.

This is an amazing hidden gem at Mayakoba Rosewood resort. Did not even show up on google. Happened on it by chance when staying at Mayakoba Andaz resort. Amazing restaurant/ bar -the food was amazing and service was over the top. Server Alejandra just blew us away, just so pleasant , professional and helpful. Open for lunch noon to 4 pm. Seafood and Mexican food. Location by the pool with views of the beach. Definitely have to try this place.
