★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pointless attempting to surf without an instructor as waves are infrequent and incredibly crowded.
Instructors push students in front of everyone with no regard for surf etiquette and it ends up with 5 people on each wave crashing into each other.
Even with an expensive instructor you are just paying to be pushed onto a wave without much actual instruction so you dont improve.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La punta has a lot to offer, from a fantastic long beach to an adventure to the lighthouse or just exploring the rock formation.
La.punta is well known for its surf, the waves change every day consistently for intermediate surfers, but there will be days to take a surf. a Lesson with the local surf schools.
Take your time to explore la Punta and its surfing culture. By night has excellent spots to hang out!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful spot to watch the sunset and hang out at day times. A bit hard to get to since you’d have to climb some rocks and several paths are private; these are restricted to enter. Still, absolutely worth any hassle, and certainly one of your future's favourite spots in Puerto Escondido.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Magical sunset spot! All though it can get quite crowded around the evening the vibes are just amazing. Also it is the most beautiful sunset i have seen! Make sure to get a drink and maybe some snacks and just watch the sunset until the end. Even after the sun went down the sky stays so beautiful for another half an hour!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don’t be scared to cross over the rocks. It took us a little while to figure out how to get over here from the surf beach, but you have to go through the rocky tunnel and then it’s super easy. My boyfriend and I had a lovely time here. Nice and quiet except for a few fishermen.
