Scooby took us out for 6 hours and we caught 2 big jacks and a few Bonitas. Good time and he was very friendly. Thanks to PV Fishing and Scooby. “Here Fishy Fishy!”

Went out on Scooby's Panga... caught 2 big Marlin... 1 at 250 lbs the other over 500 lbs. these guys worked hard for us to catch those big fish. Can't say enough good things about Scooby and his crew.

Best Fishing Trip! We went out with Scooby on September 14, 2016 and caught a 123" Black Marlin. We also caught a shark, and some mahi mahi,. Not only was this team reputable, but they were a lot of fun! When we are Puerto Vallarta again, we will be repeat customers. Thanks again for a great time!

I didn't catch the sailfish that I wanted but Scooby put us on some nice Mahi Mahi, and he definitely put forth the effort in trying to get me the fish I wanted. He also served up some very good ceviche

Overall, a poor experience and would not recommend... A bit of background - I have been on many charters up and down the west coast. I am a 6pack captain that used to live on a 45’ Bayliner in Seattle and chartered my 28’ apollo for Tuna, Halibut, and Salmon. I have been living in Mexico for several months and have been on a few 4-6hr charters in the bay. I say that to give perspective that we have been around a few fish, and I know how a charter should be run and understand the methods some captains use to cut corners. My brother was in town and wanted to land a Marlin. I did my research and the boat and crew of "My Marlin" seemed the most capable from what I could gather (mostly from their tournament success). I was specific in our request to target Marlin and the charter was booked for 10 hours to be in the Corbetena area. My correspondence on email was with Danny. Day of the Charter – 11/7/2021 Local catch reports have been very favorable for Marlin, Sailfish, and Mahi Mahi. Our experience on “My Marlin” with PV Sportfishing: - Captain was Late for pickup at La Cruz. - Captain never introduced himself. (I still don’t know his name) - It was not the captain and crew booked. It was not Captain Steve Torres (The mate was nice but he had never caught a marlin on that boat) - Never gave any sort of briefing or safety talk. I am not some woke sis but when you’re going 36 miles offshore its unacceptable to not show your customers the basic safety equipment and where it’s stored. i.e. lifejackets. - Booked for 10hours to go to Corbetena and the captain kept us near Las Marietas Islands all day. That’s about halfway to where we discussed targeting Marlin. (I am not saying there are not Marlin closer to shore, but that’s not where we paid to fish)They put lines in the water less than an hour into the charter when we were in the middle of the bay. - Cruised at 6kts all day. Didn’t matter if we were getting to the fishing grounds or lines in the water, it was 6 kts. The 28’ Bertram capable of comfortably cruising at more than 4x that. This was obviously to conserve fuel and waste our time. cruising at 6 kts will never get you 36 miles out on a 10 hour charter. - The captain controlled the music and routed Mexican music to the flybridge from the cabin and lower deck where we were. At the start the trip the crew played country music down in the cabin but after a couple hours in turned off the cabin speakers and played their music up top. Results: 4 bites all day. 3 skipjacks and an adolescent Mahi Mahi. Summary: My impression walking away is this company goes hard in the tournaments and then has an alternate crew run a cash grab for tourists. This captain’s goal was to conserve fuel, leave late, and get back early, couldn’t care less if you land a fish or have a good time. We were very disappointed and I would NOT RECOMMEND.

We went on a 4 hour trip with Captain Scooby we caught some mackerel & Bonita on our way out of the marina, and literally within the first 2 hours of our trip we caught a Mahi-Mahi & had hooked 2 sailfish at the SAME time, my fiance and I were both reeling in our sailfish together. It was an awesome experience, scooby & chicken showed us a great day on the water. Had a cooler of ice to put our drinks & food in. And gave us the option to play our own music on the boat. Plus when we were waiting in a different area at the marina they found us and we’re ready for us at 7.

We booked the My Marlin for an 8 hour trip. We showed up to the Marina a few minutes early and our 1st Mate Alberto was already there and ready for us. He walked us right to the Boat and we left the Marina in amazing time. This crew knows how to fish. There were 4 of us and we had all the lines in the water in minutes. We had so much fun, we caught all the Bonitas we could ever want and then we moved to find the bigger fish. Captain Giovanni is a true professional and had us on the fish day while most around us had given up. We caught 5 Mahi Mahi and then more Bonitas (Skip Jack) on the way back in. Had a ball, the crew were working then entire time to make sure we had the best fishing possible. I would highly recommend them to anyone that want the best chance to catch a lot of fish.
