Actualmente se desarrolla su segunda etapa de crecimiento ya que la primera alberga las áreas antes mencionadas. Además de ser el único o de los pocos centros en el país que se enfocan en la inversión a la investigación científica de diferente índole para dar solución a los problemas sociales y tecnológicos que enfrentamos como país y el mundo. Para aquellos interesados, se localiza próximo a Ciudad Gobierno, el Palacio de Convenciones, además de la Universidad Politécnica Interdisciplinaria del estado de Zacatecas (UPIIZ). En su entrada principal se solicita su nombre y dirección para ingresar; el lugar cuenta con área de estacionamiento, área recreativa y sanitarios. Realmente es un lugar con alto potencial en el que vale la pena conocer.
