Refugio del Mar Hotel Boutique - Edificio 1 - 63732 Bucerías

This is a small hotel with excellent services. The owner actually developed 3 locations, close together. Excellent amenities. They have a restaurant and a coffee shop/ lounge, all enjoyable both indoor and outdoor on their street terrace. They also offer free use of bikes and golf carts to tour the great town of Bucerias. The rooms are modern, clean and offer all the comforts of home. If you want a quiet small town experience and yet be close to the beach and excitement, look no further.

Very clean room, extra friendly staff. The staff really is amazing. The house keepers are very helpful and speak good English. This is a perfect example of boutique hotel. No one really knows where it is but as long as you have the address you're good. So we ended a great week in Bucerias. A few minor things came up but the staff quickly took care of them. This really is a nice place to stay if you are not interested in the big resort experience. If you like to meet the people, and see a different side of Mexico, this is a great place to do it.

This is a five star hotel. The access and accessibility are phenomenal. Staff and amenities are spectacular with not one complaint to speak of. With doors in the rooms, with space to relax and unwind, it's a surprise that the vacation is meant to be enjoyed outdoors.

It’s a really great place if you don’t mind random objects going missing, sliding doors and windows that don’t lock properly, and random old ladies that aren’t Housekeeping walk into your room at 9 am. Other than that the apartamento penthouse was great. Oh but let’s not forget about the lovely passive aggressiveness from housekeepers that get upset because you are sleeping in and they can’t clean for their tip… there’s also the random doors that are slightly opened when you awake in the morning: but there’s cameras in the outside areas of the building so we are reassured it was safe. Very lovely place ? The cherry on top was that the water to our apartment shut off after 11 or so PM so if you don’t mind using water bottles to brush your teeth or not being able to flush the toilet ? or even shower during the night then this is your place. Also, be careful with the A/C. one of the units kept dripping water onto the TV so it would turn off and on at random times and the volume would keep adjusting on its own. For some reason the drains in the bathrooms cause a very fowl smell to dissipate into the rooms.

The staff goes above and beyond to keep you safe at all times. The hotel is spaced apart allowing for minimal contact with other guests, it was almost like we had the place to ourselves. The city as a whole is beyond amazing! It breaks my heart to see the wonderful members of the community under so many hardships from the reduced tourism. I felt safer in every restaurant I visited than I do here in the states. Please go, you will not regret it. Speaking of restaurants... There are so many to try that we did appetizers at one, dinner at another and then dessert at another for every night we were there and still had many more that we never made it to. The breakfasts at the coffee shop in the hotel are not only delicious they are beautiful as well. We used the provided golf carts to go to the grocery store, visit the local vendors (highly recommend Mr Picasso, such a warm hearted man) and explore the city. Coming back home was eye opening, thank you so much to the staff and the city for your superb response to covid and keeping your visitors safe!

I love refugio del mar. The staff is great, George is an awesome guy very friendly can't say enough great things about him. It is only a short walk to the beach. They provide you with all you need to go to the beach seats and umbrella, they also have a golf cart to drive around town if you like. There are a ton of restaurants with in walking distance and the hotel its self is very nice. I love the town as well every time we are in the area we definitely are staying here. My home away from home.

Love this place. Excellent location. Huge penthouse! Jorge has been a great host. Covid test comes to your room. So great here. Go to Karen's restaurant 2 blocks towards the beach and get the coconut shrimp... amazing ❤️

Conveniently located in the heart of Bucerias. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and the amenities are fabulous... Beach Chairs, towels, and umbrellas, bikes, use of the hotel golf carts to get around, common pool at the first building and a rooftop pool and common area for drinks, BBQ and socializing at the second building. Rooms are Spacious with comfy beds and furniture, however, the bath and hand towels could use a refresh. They are in the process of opening the building across the street that includes a new restaurant. We love staying here and have another trip planned for next year. We look forward to trying out the new restaurant. Highly recommend. They will not disappoint.
