Wonderful and healing place. They have temezcal, yoga, hiking trails, horseback riding, and more. The food is grown and harvested from their garden and prepared with love and artistry. Perfect for meditation, calm, healing, or fun adventure. Definitely go here

Unfortunately did not have the opportunity to stay here, but was able to join for the temazcal and hiking experience. Absolutely loved it! Beautiful refugio, forest & people.

This is the most beautiful place I have ever been, a truly magical location. The yoga classes were exactly what I needed after a 14 hour travel day. Great teacher. The weather changes hourly as the sun rises, fog rolls in, lifts. Field of white lilies behind our mud house, trees full of hummingbirds... Wonderful human beings, both the local staff and the other guests. Sad to say I won't be going back. The lack of creature comforts got to me. The bed was low, hard and aggressively lumpy. The blankets were heavy but not warm, the linens too small for the mattress. Hot water for 30 seconds, toilets don't always flush. Several people had digestive distress, maybe the water, maybe the food. The food was extremely limited and repetitive, with salt as the only seasoning. Great greens, grown on site, but we had to beg for tomatoes and avocados. Also, the yoga studio is completely unsuitable for covid times. It's small and the windows don't open. The first day it was only our group, but after that, others arrived. We couldn't all fit, so we moved the class outdoors, but some people were harassed by biting flies. There is an older yoga studio that's better, but had construction equipment in it. If you're young, hardy and devotedly vegan, you could enjoy a few days. Otherwise it's worth a night or two, but bring your flannel pajamas and a down quilt. And snacks.

The room we booked months in advance was apparently double booked, and so our booking was cancelled, which left us puzzled and stranded, having to look for new accomodation in San Jose in the last minute.

This is a very unique and sacred place. If you love Mother Nature and want a surreal experience book it and stay here. Popular months are December. I went in June so it’s rainy and a little cold for this Cali girl. However even with the rain it was cozy, rural, and the hikes are seriously steep so come prepared with water, boots and beware the snakes. Going into town was fun and the people are nice! The travel in/out of town is long and windee road. So if you get car sick, I highly recommend taking motion sickness medicine.

I had booked a sauna at six so I would have ample time to leave before the taxis out stop for the night. Upon arriving was asked to wait half an hour. However at that point people were already in it. I had to leave without using the sauna, being offered to come back the next day - which was not helpful at all (the location is remote so getting there and back costs more then the sauna). I understand these things happen but the attitude of “sucks to be you” from the people at Terraza made this experience all the more frustrating. Huge waste of time, terrible attitude. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

We went for a lovely hike down to the waterfalls, then decided to get some food at the restaurant. As vegans we have been very surprised at the delicious food that Mexico has provided, however we were very disappointed at our overly priced basic quesadillas with ‘vegan cheese’ or tahini to them. It took ages and we were both still hungry after. If you want to get sucked in by the expensive prices and exploitative environment of a wellness retreat then eat here, but if you are a realist and want an actual quality meal then go anywhere else.

The location is beautiful, especially in the evening when it was foggy. The view of the mountains is really beautiful as well. The rooms were comfortable and pretty. The spirit of the place is very beautiful and the owner is kind too. The food was really delicious, but it was not cheap. My companion and I went for the first time to a Temazcal ritual, and we were curious of what it had to entail. However we had a bad experience. There were too many people in a very tight space with closed doors, while a lot of vapor was coming from the fire. It should be better explained how tight the space would be. We stayed for two nights. The first night was fine, everything peaceful and very quiet. The second night wasn't the same, there was a beeping sound outside the room, which kept on going for the whole night.
