★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Refreshing Mexican museum experience, 1.5 hrs. There are a few interactive areas where you can learn about the mesoamerican pantheon by listening to dynamic animated stories. The museum's architecture is very pleasent as well. Besides that you can find pretty much the same basic collection of mesoamerican artifacts.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visit the Museo Regional de Cholula. Originally built in 1910 as the Hospital Psiquiátrico de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, the structure, set afoot the Great Pyramid of Cholula, was renovated and expanded last year by Alejandro Sánchez García Arquitectos.
An impressive build, the museum is a great play on the history-modernity dialogue at play in Cholula and, more broadly, the state of Puebla (now a hair above 6 million in population). Between the original stark while suite of buildings and the more recent gorgeous additions in red brick, dark grey tole, and glass, the complex leaves the visitor with an impression of respectful contemporaneity.
Overall, the Museo Regional de Cholula feels at once like it belongs among the ruins that surround it, yet resolutely looks ahead to the future. It is, I imagine, one of the better examples of restoration in the country.
Inside the museum, there are various exhibitions about the history of Cholula, its volcanoes, as well as local arts and crafts. One of the most striking displays is the Desfile de Alebrijes, colourful Mexican folk art fantastical creatures.
Also notable is the gorgeous collection of tiles depicting the evolution of the Mexican golden eagle emblem.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a nice afternoon here. Most of the information is in Spanish only but there are some English signs. Quite a few of the interactive displays were not working but the ones that were working were impressive. The site is very pretty. We especially like the information on the Volcanos and the local crafts. One hall has a set of huge paper mache animals that are gorgeous. We also had a nice snack in the cafe.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The museum, an old asylum turned into a beautiful center for the exhibition of art, offers the visitors a wonderful look into the varied prehispanic, colonial and modern arts of the region.
Have a look at the geography of the valleys of central Mexico, Delve into the Pantheon of the old inhabitants and be wow at the fine arts exposed at this museum.
This is a place sure to charm culture lovers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Signage is poor. Lighting is poor. Cases are smudged and sometimes hard to see thru. Much better pre-Hispanic art at the Puebla Amparo Museum.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ such a good place to visit, I wish some of the presentation were translated to English. I think people would love to hear the same wonders I heard in Spanish. Much love Puebla :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Like the Museo Amparo in Puebla, this mix of exhibitions was informative, engaging and interesting. Indigenous histories mixed with the stories of the Alebrijes (painted, fantastical animals). Very visually stimulating.
Contextual information given in both Spanish and English for about 70% of the exhibits.
Great place to visit during your time in Cholula!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a wonderful and culturally rich place to come and enjoy. The only reason why this did not receive a fullfive stars is because three of the sections were closed due to renovation so I was not able to view these places. The museum is perfectly curated and wonderfully mapped out with great help from the front desk I knew exactly where I should go and what places were closed in the moment. Because of construction some areas were closed and could not be viewed but they did not take away from the many areas that were available and open. So much history is preserved here and wonderfully displayed.
My daughter and I was greeted by the museum Director and welcomed with love and warmth. The fact that he took his time out just to say hello to my daughter and I shows the level of care and respect that this place has. I can say without a doubt I am so blessed and honored to be able to view this wonderful place and recommend all to come at least once and enjoy.
Although I have shared photos I cannot stress enough that any photos taken will not and do not serve this place the correct amount of justice and could truly only Be appreciated, live and in person to observe with your own eyes. The sheer beauty that you will receive from the artifacts that are carefully curated will truly be honored and gratified in person.
