★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is a garden to visit as you come into town. There is no access to the reserve at Tres Cruces which shows up on Google maps. It was closed for Independence day. The reserve has little infrastructure other than the garden. We took the road to Zacualtipan to see the Old Man cactus up close. Warning, trying to bush-wack through the brush here is formidable, lots of thorny bushes and some kind of stinging nettle. Still worth the pain!!
