Nice hike. Only 2ish kilometres long. Great for picnics, or just a chill hike

Beautiful natural forest full of endemic trees and plants. The land is well preserved and has a good walking trail that begins quite steep. There are I think five rest spots along the way with a table and bench. Signs indicate and identify several native trees and plants along the way. The forest is full of bromeluads and tillandsias. Its a two kilometer walk, takes about an hour to walk. The only thing I didn't like was the proximity to San Juan Chamula. A big festival was going on and the sounds could be heard. But this us a great park for nature lovers. A lot of birds can be heard as well.

Neat place. Lots of mushrooms to pick. Wild pear trees. Sketchy stairs.

Visited for birding. Bird numbers were very low. Nevertheless, I was pleased to see three new species for me - Mountain Trogon, Strong-billed Woodcreeper and Common Chlorospingus. Most of the lower reach of the Reserva is second growth, but the upper area displays some splendid, soaring (150'+) old-growth hardwoods...possibly oaks. The three new birds were sighted in the old-growth.

Beautiful and tranquil! Highly recommend to get away from the city.

To me the short walk is not worth the entrance fee. You can find much better places for hiking! However it may be possible to avoid the entrance fee if there is noone at the booth OR if you walk through the little village above the entrance first and descend at the last house/hut.

Awesome place for up to a 3 hour hike through the hills of Huitepec. It’s quite a steep climb for the first hour but the trees and beautiful and the sendero is well laid out and maintained.

I was a bit disappointed by this hike. Firstly, it costs 40 pesos to enter and the walk is only 2 kms long. With some steep inclines it is possible to finish in 40 minutes. The nature is okay but nothing spectacular. The sign posts are not well maintained and as a result sometimes it is possible to walk on another path. Along the path are 3 points to rest which are pretty good. Overall I would not recommend this walk.
