We all believed it was the rice. But who's to say it was the only restaurant that we ate outside of our hotel. Freshwater we take for granted!
R	Rick on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a funky looking little place on la Madera Beach. 2 restaurants south of the beach trail from downtown Zihuatanejo. It has black plastic covering a probably damaged thatched roof but don’t let that fool you. This woman chef can cook simple but delicious main courses. They have the best coconut shrimp (camarones de coco) that we’ve ever had (anywhere) and anybody we’ve turned onto this restaurant agrees. Served with creme de coco and sweet glazed bananas. Their shrimp & fish tacos and ceviche are all very good and prices are more in line with what an American or Canadian tourist would hope for in casual dining with the beach as your floor. Sides are typically run of the mill rice and basic salad, but that is to be expected. Good bang for the buck!

K	Ken on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Restaurant El Chiringuito is your typical "walking down the beach in Zihua, need a drink and some tacos" kind of place. It's right on the beach, plastic patio chairs and table in the sand, shade, and plenty of vendors passing by. The food is good. We ordered fish tacos and coconut shrimp. The fish tacos were excellent! Just a nice basic sauteed fish with onion and yellow peppers. The corn tortilla was perfect. Very hot and crispy on the outside, but still soft in the middle. Nice! Coconut shrimp was very good. They were a deep fried shredded coconut outer batter with a a creme filling. Our waiter, Carlos, was attentive, friendly, and did a great job. You can't go wrong here. Good "street" food and drinks for cheap!
