Restaurant Frida

Frida was by far the worst part of this vacation. The following incident actually happened twice, but ended up dismissing it because it is out of the ordinary to deal with. My family and i have allergies to many different foods. In order to make sure that everything is smooth we order ahead and make the chefs/people involved aware. So it comes time to our reservation. Everything goes as planned. UNTIL THE BREAD COMES OUT!!! We informed the staff we cannot have the bread because it will send us to the hospital. We thought this would be the end of it (Boy were we wrong) they kept trying to bring us bread for nearly the next 30 minutes. This annoyed the heck out of all of us and we were already ready to get out of there. Then the food comes. I thought it couldn't have gotten any worse but my steak was a square, unseasoned medium piece of meat that was no good. The best thing out of the family of 6 (there was a wide variety of choices) was the pasta. BUT ITS A MEXICAN RESTAURANT!!!! In fact lucca (right across the hall) was the best restaurant I've been to yet. I would discourage anyone from going to frida and if so keep in mind that from MY experience the food ia very low quality. Have a good day/night.

The manager Socrates is an impressive young professional. He jasade surprising suggestions and each and every one of the dishes were delicious. We had a chance to meet the chef, and I could tell him I was humbled by his exceptional culinary skills. He is truly a gem! Do not miss the opportunity to taste unique and complex flavors.

Excellent food and very friendly service. We were a party of 4 and our flight landed late, but they still managed to get us in an hour after our reservation time. The food was very flavorful and all the wait staff were helpful. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the wait for the food was extremely long. We were seated for over an hour and our entrees were not even out yet. We ordered dessert afterwards, and I feel like that added an extra 40 mins into our experience. Maybe it was just a busy day. But a 2 is hour long dining experience just seems a bit lengthy.

Greta atmosphere and decoration. The food is superb, and it has a pretty decent wine list. Service according to the level of the restaurant. A very good experience.

The best restaurant on the resort. Honestly top notch offerings and we loved our waiter Victor. The wine list by the glass is also terrific.

Gourmet fusion Mexican restaurant in Grand Velas Resort. The interior was really warm and cosy and each dish was an experience especially their soups. Everything was super tasty and you could taste nice Mexican spices after each bite. Really recommended. Don’t forget to book your table.

Very rich and flavorful dishes accompanied by attentive service and great drink!
