★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lori (formerly from Fogon de Charlotte and Lake Taco) has a winner with her new restaurant, Membrillo. In a green and white building at the corner of Zaragoza and Marcos Castellanos. It has an extensive menu, with offerings from her previous restaurants, plus some new items from a cousin's restaurant in Guadalajara. If you like enchiladas, try the Enchiladas Morita, bathed in a sauce of smokey morita chilis, covered in cheese and baked in the oven, then topped with a drizzle of sour cream, epazote leaves, plus a sprinkling of black and white sesame seeds for a beautiful presentation (offered with your choice of protein... the shredded beef is great).
