Actually our first choice for restaurants in Xcalak. Veracruz or mayan style whole fish fantastic. Not the main tourist spot to eat but it is the main Mexican national ran authentic local food place to eat. Would be our first stop on back in town.

Nice simple place to eat seafood. Really nice people and nice food! Xcalat is not a place to be in a rush so if there are a few people there waiting for food please don't expect it to be too quick.

Not more than a Ok place, with sloppy fries and long waiting times. Also be sure to ask the price first since they make something up according to what you might be able to pay.

It's a bit sad to me that the average rating for this restaurant is so low. I had the pleasure of going to this restaurant last week and found it to be one of the best in town. Silvia cooks from the heart and offers customers a fantastic local cuisine. Oddly, this was one of the only places where you could find fish. We ordered a whole fish and the fish tacos. It was fantastic. My only regret is that we didn't go here earlier. If you are in Xclack, do not pass up this gem!

Wonderful food and delightful local cantina. Fabulous fish tacos with all the fixings and a whole fish dinner that was excellent. Bravo!

We ate here 3 days in a row. The whole (deep) fried fish was amazing, as was the camarones a la plancha and camarones empanizados. The tacos de camarón and the grilled fish were ok, but a bit bland. Silvia was a super nice person when the service wasn't too busy and she had the time to chat. And the staff was also very nice. ..and the home made salsas were all to die for! If you order salsa de tamarindo, de habanero y ajo and de habanero y piña you will not be disappointed.

Pretty decent restaurant for a ghost town ? A fairly cold welcome, probably due to the heat (pun intended). We had the cameron ceviche and the grilled whole fish. Both were good, the accompanying 3 sauces w the fish brought a nice extra. The day after we had the specialties of the house. The Carribean sandwich with breaded fish (apart from the sandwich bread it was nice) and the breaded cameron tacos (?)
