El General is a shell from its glory days post pandemic. It is only fair to be transparent and honest and review this establishment as it is present. So this review is based on my latest visit only. This establishment has been a staple of the Allende night life for a while now. Furthermore, competition to retain customers is dwindling and it shows in its customer base. Regional music of course is the main type of music that you will listen to. The staff will also accept requests as long as it stays within the established genres the place is known for. The bar itself is located in an open outdoor area with plenty of seating on the main floor as well as the bar itself. The whole theme is very nostalgic of the earlier years of Allende with its wooden furniture and decor. This is not a full fledged bar as only the essential liquor and a few name brand beers are served. The restaurant itself is located in a separated but smaller building within the same location. The food is subpar and my few visits here to eat have been tested as many occasions the restaurant has run out of meats, its main source of food, leaving me with limited choices of tacos and sides. Granted, the staff is super friendly and its very welcoming. If you're in town and If you want to hang out, maybe catch up, get a few beers, although not great, its a fair place to stop by. Don't expect to go alone and meet new people though
