★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ate here on a Shore Excursion. It was quite good. The excursion leader indicated we should make sure and have the guacamole, it was excellant! The lunch was included with the cost of the excursion, the guacamole was not included but very worth the $5 they charged.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I gave it one star because zero was not an option. Terrible service and the lady who sells gorditas in the plaza makes tastier food than this place. It’s the only restaurant in town and has three signs. The signs should tell you what to expect from these people. It’s know locally as the caca de pays not casa. Don’t waste your time or money at this place. Better restaurants are coming soon and even one in the same location as they are being booted by the owners. Can you imagine a sign like this one on el meson de los laureano’s in el quelite?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was SO delicious!
Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was amazing!
Copala is so quaint, it is like stepping back into time, Colonial Mexico, so peaceful, so beautiful!
The 3 must sees... Alejandro's, an adorable artisian's shop just to the southwest, and also on that plaza, the Church with the spitting Saint.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is pretty much the only restaurant in the old town of Copala a little more than an hour from Mazatlan in the foothills of the Sierra Madre. Almost nothing there except a few remnants of its former mining legacy beginning in the mid 1500's. The old church is an absolutely beautiful if somewhat decaying structure. The restaurant is very charming, quaint and had surprisingly good food. Famous for its banana pie. We grabbed 2 to go and they were excellent. I great place to stop during a day trip to Copala.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant was a throwback to a slower time in life. Although there aren't many people living in this small mountain town, the town is so beautiful. I wish this restaurant lots of luck. I was on a bus tour, so I'm sure that I got the bus tour plate; I could have used a bit more food. The service was terrific, the people friendly, and the setting couldn't be better.
