★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing restaurant close to the trail leading to Tepozteca. Wide variety of authentic local dishes, great service and surroundings that can't be beat. The property is basically a natural oasis with an excellent view of the mountain from many tables.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had planned to eat breakfast before our hike up the Tepozteco. We had not found a spot and luckily we ran into Axitla. This was was not only scenic but also had great food and service.
We requested a table in the patio area not knowing that we would get an incredible view of the Tepozteco. We were looking for a light meal being that we were about to take on a good hike. However, we did not realize how well served their plates were. This is not a complaint tho, the food was delicious and extremely reasonably priced.
I would suggest you stop by for breakfast or lunch after the hike, which by the way, the archeological site which houses the pyramid is still closed.
